How students use the knowledge and skills gained is best exemplified by their numerous achievements. Here are the most important ones:
Skandia Poland Opportunity
Again a WSB-NLU student qualified among the winners of the Skandia Poland Opportunity. This year, Aneta Matysko received the third prize ( the first was not granted) for her thesis “Unit-Linked Life insurance for the Handicapped.’ Last year, Magdalena Jastrzębska, also a WSB-NLU student received the first degree award for her thesis ‘Mutual Funds Portfolio Controller.’ Prof. Wiktor Cwynar, Ph.D. was the program coordinator at WSB-NLU.
L’Oreal Marketing Award
WSB-NLU team consisting of Marta Stefańczyk, Tomasz Ciąpałą and Maksymilian Imiałek won the national final of an international competition - L’Oreal Marketing Award 2003. It is the tenth international L’Oreal Marketing Award Competition; however, it is the first time when the competition is organized in this year. It is probably the most creative enterprise addressed to young people who would like to confront theoretical knowledge they have gained with reality.
Marketplace
Over the last several years, teams of WSB-NLU students have regularly won with teams representing the best American and European universities in the international Internet-based contest entitled Global Internet Marketplace Competition. This year's round of the competition that ended on April 24 was won by the WSB-NLU team consisting of stundents of the second year of Management and Marketing and Computer Information Sytems Departments: Barbara Żbik-Badek, Janusz Garścia and Andrzej Szymczak.
This team managed to get the best score in the competition's history- at the end of the competition, the firm run by the Nowy Sącz students had almost 80% market share and revenue of over $500 million.
Entrepreneurship Competition
WSB-NLU students demonstrate their skills and well-rounded knowledge attaining top positions in the annual editions of the Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the Foundation for Entrepreneurship Education in Łódz, which attracts students of both public and non-state business academic institutions from all over the country.

2001 - 3rd place (team members: Jonna Michałojć, Marcin Sierant, Wojciech Panek, Łukasz Przybycień, Magdalena Żmuda),
2000 - 1st place (team members: Agnieszka Schmidt, Marcin Margol, Łukasz Łoboda, Marek Rawicki, Marcin Ruczyński),
1999 - 1st place,
1998 - 2nd place (the first prize was not granted),
1997 - 2nd place.
Marketplace
Over the last four years, teams of WSB-NLU students have participated in the international Internet-based contest entitled Global Internet Marketplace Competition competing against contestants from both American and European Business Education Colleges and Universities. In the winter semester of 2002/03, the wiining team was represented by: Łukasz Sękowski, Ewelina Wilkosz, Katarzyna Wawer and Katarzyna Kózka.
AIESEC Presidents
Tomasz Kobus, the President of the Local AIESEC Committee in Nowy Sacz was appointed first to the Vice Presidency of the National Committee in 1998, then a year later elected to the Presidency of the AIESEC National Committee. In 2002, he was elected Director for AIESEC International Programs (the first Pole to hold this position).
Norbert Bajorek held the post of Vice President for Finance of the AIESEC National Committee in the years 1999-2000.
Piotr Szpunar held the position of DAIESEC Director for Contacts with GOs and NGOs in the years 2001-2002.
