Nowy Sacz is a town of 80 000 people, where crime, violence and unrest are well-below the national average, making the city an ideal “university town”. Students from across Poland and abroad can focus on pursuing their education and relax in peace, making use of the facilities offered by WSB-NLU and the town.
These days many students prefer smaller towns for the peace and quiet they offer, an issue which is also seen as increasingly important by the parents. For parents and students alike, the dangers posed by larger agglomerations are often too real and, as a result smaller towns like Nowy Sacz, are appreciated for the positive study environment.
In caring for its students, WSB-NLU has developed a comprehensive system of protection, which is based on its own resources and those of external institutions, with the aim of assuring maximum safety:
The first step in creating a safe environment is the protection of the WSB-NLU Campus. The School has an extensive CCTV camera monitoring system that provides live information to the Security Centre, ensuring 24-hour safety for the students and staff. Every day there are several security personnel on duty (most have professional security certification), who are trained to respond to, and deal with, any situation.
The second step is securing the living quarters of WSB-NLU students. All WSB-NLU dormitories are protected by CCTV camera monitoring systems and have 24-hour security. Only students or their friends are permitted access onto the premises (but with full control and registration of arriving guests), while everyone else is prohibited from entering. The WSB-NLU dormitories provide a safe, insulated environment for relaxation, study and daily student life.
The third step involves external cooperation:
- WSB-NLU has signed a protection contract with a professional security agency, which is able to respond to any problems within minutes, and may be called by the WSB-NLU security staff at the Campus or dormitories. These operations include reacting to violence, breaking of dormitory regulations, etc.
- WSB-NLU has signed a cooperation agreement with the Nowy Sacz Police, which is able to carry out preventive operations on all WSB-NLU premises (Campus and dormitories). These operations are primarily focused on combating drug trafficking and drug abuse, etc.
The Rector of WSB-NLU always says to his students: "You are like children to me". And who wouldn't want his own children to be safe?
