Can I continue my education in the USA with the NLU diploma?
Our alumni receive a genuine American bachelor’s degree. National-Louis University in Chicago is authorized to offer such degrees and Nowy Sącz School  of Business  – National-Louis University is one of their campuses. The diploma is fully recognizable in the USA and permits the student to apply for any grad school he chooses. In practice, for the application process you will need a transcript, not the diploma.

Can I transfer to National-Louis University during the studies at WSB-NLU?
Yes.
You simply have to fulfill the following criteria:
- transfer students are required to have a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- at least 45 credits (2 semesters) must be earned here in Nowy Sącz,
- you will need a letter from sponsor - Affidavit of Support (if the sponsor is a US resident) or Letter of Support (for non-US residents) with the information that they can offer $22 000 to cover your education-related expenses during the first year.
- you will also need to submit the official transcript and the completed application form. WSB-NLU students have 31% discount off the tuition fee at NLU, Chicago.

What criteria do I have to fulfill to get the American Diploma?
You have to complete the undergraduate, full-time program (including English up to LAT course) and pay $300. So far, the opportunity applies to Business Administration and Computer Information Systems majors. Now, both Polish and American programs are almost identical. However, GPA is calculated a bit differently (pluses, minuses do not count), certain courses are not transferable.

Does WSB-NLU have students’ organization?
Yes.
There are over 30 organizations, societies that have emerged as a result of organized group activity or as a dream of a single individual whose idea gathered additional followers.

Is this true that students have the access to polish and international literature via school library?
Yes.
WSB-NLU library holds nearly 2500 CD-ROMs that contain the digital equivalent of 100 000 conventional volumes. 51 000 conventional books are backed by 30 online databases and unlimited access to the ProQuest online information service, Lex and all NLU’s internet-based databases for example Harvard Educational Review, Illinois Digital Library Databases (IDAL), EBSCO.

What additional language can I learn?
Students can choose as a second language: German, French, Russian. Students from abroad, who are not of Polish origin, will study Polish as their second foreign language.


I learn English and German but in addition to that I want to learn one more language for example French is it possible?
Yes.
You just have to pay extra for that language course.

How many people attend language classes?
No more than 18 – that is the rule.


Does WSB-NLU help to find training during studies?
Yes.
There are two places you can find this information:
Intranet and a notice board in school so students can easily find it.
Students can apply for above offers or look for training on their own. If they choose the second way school provides them with all necessary documents like recommendation letter or necessary certificates.

Do I have to pass an English exam for studying Management & Marketing in English?
Yes.
Only seniors graduating from high schools operating on the basis of the American or British system, persons with a certified international secondary school leaving examination, CAE Certificate in Advanced English, CPE Certificate of Proficiency in English or FCE First Certificate in English with the final score -A are exempted from the language placement examination.

What happens when my English is not good enough to study Marketing and Management in English?
Acceptance is determined by your command of English. Every single time it is going to be commission’s individual decision.

Does WSB-NLU have entrance examinations? What are admission criteria?
The procedures of  tuition-based admissions do not include the entrance examinations. The School accepts all candidates who have submitted a complete dossier starting from May 8, 2006 until all the places have been filled; however, no later than September 22, 2006.

For Marketing and Management program in English you need the following documents


What are special admission requirements for graduates of foreign high schools?
Graduates of foreign high schools must, apart from the other required documents, submit an official recognition of a High School diploma as equivalent to the Polish school-leaving certificate. In order to do this, the diploma must be first certified by the Consulate of the country it was issued in, then it should be translated into Polish and submitted to the regional Board of Education (Kuratorium Oświaty) in the candidate’s residence. If a candidate is not an official resident of Poland, such recognition can be obtained from any Board of Education in the country.


What if I am not sure if my diploma needs an official recognition of a High School diploma?
There is a special office called Kuratorium or Biuro Uznawalności Dyplomów – there you can ask


How can I deliver the required documents?
Required documents may be sent by registered letter (the date of delivery to WSB-NLU is binding) or submit them in person to the Admissions Office of WSB-NLU Mondays through Fridays from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

There are four recently completed dormitories, within a short walking distance from the school, offer accommodation for 560 students, with laundry, in-room telephone, Internet and satellite TV services. The price depends on the standard 290 – 500 PLN.

What will happen if I don’t receive a room in the dormitory?
Do not worry.

Where can I eat?
On campus, there is a cafeteria and three snack bars offering sandwiches, salads, snacks, and hot and cold beverages. There are also several small cafes situated near the campus that offer tasty and inexpensive meals.


Does the school have sport facilities?
Yes.
The school owns a multi-purpose sports complex (for soccer, volleyball, basketball, etc.) and four tennis courts (two open-air and two enclosed) and a superbly equipped fitness club (gym and training hall).

How to get to Nowy Sącz?
There are several ways of getting to Nowy Sącz.


Where do I go shopping?
Most shops are located close to the town center, but the largest shopping center, Europa II, is located near the bus station (PKS), Nawojowska 2. The biggest supermarket, Real, is located on the edge of town. The biggest stores stay open until 8.00 or 9.00 pm most nights of the week.
