Entry conditions:
Students embark on the academic programme they are already proficient in English (according to the WSB-NLU scale, language knowledge on level 5, i.e. completed EFL5).
Upon their arrival at WSB-NLU, students undergo an exam that tests their English skills. In the case of students who do not have (required) English skills, they are required to undertake the Preparatory Year, which will help to bring their English proficiency up.
Entry onto the academic programmes without an English exam is possible for candidates who possess one of the following:
- TOEFL paper-test score of 550;
- TOEFL computer-test score of 213; 6 on the IELTS scale;
- Cambridge FCE, grade A;
- Cambridge CAE,
- CPE, grade C.
Candidates that wish to enter the programme but do not have appropriate English language skills, have the option of improving their language competency by participating in the WSB-NLU Preparatory Year
Required documentation for Non-EU candidates wishing to enter the undergraduate programme:
a. 4 passport photographs.
b. Application: both in electronic format (available in the RECRUITMENT section at the top of the page) and in physical format (printed) with the candidate’s signature.
c. Original high school diploma: together with its translation into Polish, made in the Polish Consulate or other diplomatic representative. In the case of translations done on Polish territory, they have to be done by certified Polish translators.
d. Additionally, each diploma that undergoes a later certification of legality („nostrification”) must possess two stamps from the Polish Consulate: a stamp (or separate certificate), that the presented diploma is authentic and a statement that „the diploma gives its holder the right to enter higher education in the home country” (in accordance with the Decree of the Polish Minister of Education, from 15th November 1997 regarding the nostrification of diplomas acquired abroad).
e. Nostrification (validation) of the high school diploma: the webpage of the Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange (http://www.buwiwm.edu.pl/) shows the legal regulations concerning the validation of diplomas gained abroad, including a list of countries with which Poland has signed agreements for the mutual recognition of diplomas. If a given diploma is covered by such an agreement, it is automatically validated, in accordance with the content of the agreement. If a given diploma/certificate is not covered by an interstate agreement, or was issued bin a country with which Poland has not signed an agreement regarding the mutual recognition of educational levels, then the it becomes the subject of the Decree regarding the nostrification of diplomas acquired abroad, in accordance with which, the given diploma must be presented at the local Ministry of Education Office (Kuratorium). The addresses of the local Offices can be found on the Ministry of Education website (http://www.menis.gov.pl/). The Ministry of Education Office (Kuratorium) will not accept a diploma that was not certified by the Polish Consulate in the country of its issue. The validation („nostrification”) for a given diploma can be applied for only once.
f. Insurance: The rules regulating the entry of foreigners onto Polish territory (Border Security Agency) and of the legalisation of foreigner stay in Poland (Voivodship Office), state that a foreigner must possess adequate funds to cover any medical stay during their stay in Poland. Students are advised to purchase such insurance in their home country. The insurance policy must be translated into Polish by a certified translator. EU citizens are required to hold an up-to-date E 111 form, issued in their home country or the European Insurance Card.
g. Medical certificate: stating the lack of any preconditions that might prevent a candidate from undertaking the given study programme. The certificate must be written out only on acceptable Polish forms.
h. Photocopy of proof of payment: of the registration fee and the tuition fee for the first year.
